Data Interpretation

Data Interpretation is the step where you translate analytical results into meaningful insight to make decisions.

It’s understanding, validating, and explaining the outputs of models and analyses in a way that leads to actionable conclusions.

Explain Results

You need to interpret and understand what do the model results actually mean.

Evaluate Reliability

Take into account the accuracy, bias, overfitting and precision of the model you’re using.

Extract Insights

Look for patterns, relationships, anomalies, and make reports.

Connect to Context

Relate to real world context.

Data Storytelling

Data Storytelling consists in communicating the resulting information through a story or narration. It’s a very useful way to get to a broader audience, as humans retain more information if it’s provided through a story. Data storytelling is composed of three elements:

  • Data: the actual dataset, that must be clear, ordered and precise.
  • Visualization: Used to represent said data, using graphical elements to summarize and understand patterns.
  • Narrative: The story, built around graphical elements, to convey the extracted information to the public.

Infographic

An infographic is a visual representation of information, data or knowledge, that is designed to present complex information in clear and concise ways.

An infographic is used to:

  • present reports visually
  • highlight important data
  • to make concepts easier to understand
  • promote products or services through visual marketing

Most dashboards are made with Power BI, Tableau, Looker Studio or matplotlib.
