09/05/2026 CodeNight

This was, in my opinion, the first successful codenight.

The previous one were ok, we talked a lot, socialized, and went through lots of theory, but not much real work.

But tonight, lots of new guys joined, and started coding. As most of them were beginners, we focused on LibreCourseUY’s Initial Challenges, created the repository and some of them even got to make a PR.

Even though most of them were learning Python, some of them did the challenges in Kotlin and even R*st (We don’t say the R-Word here).

After that, with those that finished early, we looked through FastAPI Intro Documentation, which is one of the best (if not the best) framework documentations to read.

Even though it’s cold AF in Uruguay, the warmth of a good codenight was enough to keep us awake and coding until 0200, while two crazy guys stayed until 0700!

Overall, a good initial codenight.

Plans for next week? Start going over FastAPI basics and start with the first project: a CRUD based Audit Log Microservice.
